How to keep Silver Queen in winter

How to keep Silver Queen in winter

1. Suitable temperature

The temperature is low in winter, and the most important task for the Silver Queen to survive the winter safely is to keep it warm. Specifically, it is best to be above ten degrees. If conditions do not permit, do not go below five degrees. If the temperature is low, be sure to keep it indoors.

2. Proper lighting

In addition to temperature, another important task is to ensure sufficient light. If good light is not guaranteed in winter, the color of the leaves will become very dull and it will also affect the growth of the next year. If wintering indoors, choose a location with good light. After the temperature rises, you can move it outdoors to bask in the sun.

3. Appropriate amount of water

Watering can be determined according to temperature. When the temperature drops in late autumn, gradually reduce the amount of watering. If it is very cold in winter, you can simply not water it and keep the soil slightly dry. If the temperature can reach fifteen degrees, you can add a little water when the soil is dry. Fertilizer is generally not needed and can be suspended. Even if fertilizer is applied, the plant may not be able to absorb it and may cause harm.

4. Disease prevention and control

Diseases may include leaf spot, root rot, etc., while insect pests may include nematodes, etc. Whether it is a disease or an insect pest, spray pesticides in time to prevent and control it after it is discovered.
