Generally, succulents need to have their roots pruned before being potted, and some of the old and bad roots nearby should be trimmed off, which will facilitate their later growth. After root pruning, the roots need to be dried, which is a very important step.

The specific time to dry it in the sun is determined by the healing of the wound. Under normal circumstances, place it in a cool, well-ventilated place and dry it for half a day until the wound heals. If you feel that the healing is not going well, you can extend the time and let it air dry for another half a day. This will not affect the survival. If you accidentally trim the roots too heavily and the wound becomes larger, you cannot judge based on this time and need to dry it in the sun for two to three more days, mainly depending on the condition of the wound.

After root pruning, the plants must be dried in the sun. If this step is missed, the wound will not heal before being planted directly into the soil. The pruned wounds will easily breed bacteria and cause infection. In severe cases, they will cause rot, making it difficult for the plant to survive.
