Oleander cultivation methods and precautions

Oleander cultivation methods and precautions

Oleander is a particularly easy plant to grow and has a high ornamental value. However, it is a tropical plant and is more suitable for planting in southern regions. It can grow particularly well as long as there is sufficient light.

How to grow oleander

1. Soil

Oleander likes loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil. The plant has a strong adaptability to soil and can grow normally even in alkaline soil.

2. Lighting

Oleander likes a growing environment with sufficient light, so it is more suitable for outdoor cultivation. If it is grown indoors, it must be placed in a location with good lighting, and it needs to be moved in time according to the light.

3. Moisture

When the climate is dry, you need to give oleander more water. It is best to keep the soil in the pot slightly moist. Water it every 2-3 days, but be careful not to have water accumulation in the pot.

4. Temperature

Oleander likes a warm environment, and the most suitable growth temperature is above 15℃. Only by providing it with a suitable growth temperature can the flowers of the plant continue to bloom and the flowering period can be guaranteed.

5. Pruning

Oleander is a very lush plant with relatively thin leaves. If it is not pruned in time, it can easily affect ventilation and affect the growth of the plant.

Oleander maintenance precautions

Every spring and summer is the growing season of oleander. At this time, the top buds of the plant are vulnerable to aphids, so it is necessary to spray appropriate drugs in time for prevention and control, so as not to affect the growth and ornamental value of the plant.
