The difference between the weeping fig and the small-leaved fig

The difference between the weeping fig and the small-leaved fig

1. Difference of blades

The leaves of the weeping fig are thin leathery, ovate to ovate-elliptical, 4-8 cm long, about 2-4 cm wide, with a short acuminate tip, a rounded or cuneate base, smooth and glabrous on both sides, and lanceolate stipules.

The leaves of the small-leaved banyan are narrowly elliptical, about 5-10 cm long and 1.5-4 cm wide, with a short pointed tip and a gradually pointed tip, and a cuneate base. The rest is similar to the former.

2. The difference between flowers

The flowers of the weeping fig are spherical or oblate, red to yellow when mature. Male flowers, female flowers and gall flowers grow in the same fig. There are very few male flowers, with stalks, 4 tepals, and a broad ovate shape. Female flowers are sessile, with short spoon-shaped tepals. There are many gall flowers, with 5-4 tepals, and a narrow spoon-shaped shape.

The flowers of the small-leaved banyan are spherical and pink in color. There are very few male flowers, with 2 lanceolate tepals, oblique ovate ovary, lateral style, and gall flowers similar to female flowers.
