Grape growing conditions and regional climate

Grape Introduction

Grape is a plant of the Vitaceae family and the genus Vitis. It is a famous fruit that can be eaten raw, made into raisins and used to make wine. Grape is also known as Putao, Caolongzhu, Ci Zi Cherry, Bodhi Seed, and Mountain Gourd. Grape varieties include Xiangfeng, Xiahei, Zuijinxiang, and Red Grape.

Grape growing conditions

Grapes prefer an environment with plenty of sunshine and have strong adaptability to the environment, but are more suitable for planting in areas with low precipitation, convenient watering and deep soil. They have a certain degree of cold and drought resistance and prefer a certain low temperature in winter. They grow better when cultivated on sandy loam or gravel loam with deep soil, good drainage and rich in organic matter.

Grape growing climate and temperature

The temperature should not be lower than 12 degrees during grape maintenance. A temperature of 12 degrees may stop the growth of grapes. In addition, when the grapes are blooming, the temperature must be above 20 degrees to ensure flowering. Mediterranean climate, marine climate, and continental climate are suitable for growing grapes all over the world.

Suitable areas for grape growing

Grapes are generally distributed in areas with an altitude of 400 to 600 meters. They were originally distributed in western Asia. In China, they are mainly distributed in Xiaoxian County, Anhui Province and Turpan, Xinjiang Province.

Grape planting time

It is better to plant grapes about 15 days before budding in spring, which is around March-April. Some people also plant them about half a month after the leaves fall in autumn, which is around September-October.

Benefits of grape cultivation

The yield of grapes after planting is low, generally about 300-1000 kilograms per mu. According to the market price of 2 yuan per kilogram, the profit per mu is 600-2000 yuan. The next year, it begins to enter the high-yield period, and can produce about 3500 kilograms of high-quality fruit per mu. The income per mu is about 7000-10000 yuan. After deducting the cost, the profit is about 3000-4000 yuan. As long as it is properly managed, the benefits are considerable.
