Steps for repotting gardenias. Do you need to water them after repotting?

1. Steps for repotting

1. Repotting time: Gardenia should be repotted once every one or two years. Although there are not many requirements for repotting gardenia, in order to ensure its recovery, you must choose a good time. It is best to choose spring and autumn, especially around March. Note that the pot cannot be changed during the high temperature period in summer, when the climate is too cold in winter, or before it blooms.

2. Take out the plant: An important step in repotting is to take out the plant. First, loosen the soil around the pot, then hold the edge of the pot with one hand and take the gardenia out of the pot with the other hand.

3. Proper pruning: After taking out the gardenia, remove the surrounding soil and trim off some old roots and dead roots, but don’t cut off too many, otherwise it will be difficult to survive later.

4. Choose a pot and match the soil: In order not to affect the later growth, the flowerpot should be slightly larger than the previous one, mainly because the texture should be air-permeable and allow normal drainage. The soil can be mixed with leaf mold, garden soil, and peat soil, and a certain amount of base fertilizer can be added to ensure that it is breathable, loose, and nutritious.

5. Planting in a pot: Fill the pot with soil, then plant the gardenia in it and cover it with soil.

2. Do I need to water after repotting?

After repotting, you need to water it to keep it moist, then place it in a well-ventilated place with diffused light, and wait for the gardenia to adapt to the pot.
