Cultivation methods and precautions of asparagus fern

Cultivation methods and precautions of asparagus fern

1. Potting soil

The soil should be loam with good air permeability, strong drainage and rich in humus. It is best to change the pot once a year when caring for it indoors, remove some of the old soil and replace it with new soil.

2. Temperature

The minimum temperature should be maintained above 10℃. If the temperature is below 5℃, obvious frost damage will occur, which will manifest as yellowing and falling leaves. Dormancy may also occur when the summer temperature is above 32℃.

3. Light

Asparagus fern likes bright light, but cannot be exposed to direct sunlight, so it should be placed in a bright location with scattered light.

4. Watering

The water requirement for asparagus fern is generally to keep the soil in the pot slightly moist. Do not water it too much or too little, otherwise yellow leaves, fallen leaves, and falling needles will occur.

5. Fertilization

The fertilizer requirements for asparagus fern during its growth period are not too high. It is sufficient to apply thin liquid fertilizer twice in spring and autumn. There is no need to apply too much fertilizer or too frequently.

6. Build the support

Asparagus fern is a climbing plant. As the plant grows and time goes by, you should pay attention to building a support for it to climb, otherwise the shape of the plant will be disordered.

VII. Precautions

1. Prevent excessive sunlight. Under direct sunlight, the leaves will turn yellow, fall off, or even wither.

2. It likes moisture during maintenance, but avoids waterlogging and is not drought-resistant. In addition to considering the water content in the potting soil, you must also consider the air humidity. The air must be moist enough.
