Difference between Albizia Julibrissin and Mimosa

1. Differences in plants

The Albizia Julibrissin is a deciduous tree that is relatively tall, reaching up to 16 meters. The top of the tree spreads outward, and the new branches have the same twigs.

Mimosa is a herbaceous plant, so the plant is relatively small and the maximum height is no more than 1 meter.

2. The difference of leaves

The single leaves of the Albizia Julibrissin are relatively large, ranging from 6 to 12 mm in length, and will not close if touched.

The leaves of mimosa are linear or oblong in shape, with a single leaf length of 5 to 10 mm. As the name suggests, its leaves will close when touched.

3. The difference of flowers

The inflorescence of the Albizia Julibrissin is relatively large and fan-shaped. The flowers are dark pink in color. The calyx is tubular and 3 mm long. The flowering period is from June to July.

The inflorescence of mimosa is small, capitulate, spherical, about 1 cm in diameter, the flowers are small in shape, and the color is light pink. The flowering period is from March to October.
