What is the flower of Globe amaranth?

1. Stem

The stem of Globe Amaranth is relatively thick and branched. The branches are slightly quadrangular and have many gray rough hairs. They will be denser in the early stage and the nodes will be slightly swollen.

2. Blades

The leaves of Globe amaranth are papery, 3.5-13 cm long and 1.5-5 cm wide, oblong or rectangular-obovate, with pointed or blunt tips, small spots on both sides, white long hairs and marginal ciliates, and petioles with gray long hairs.

3. Petals

The inflorescence of Globe amaranth is terminally spherical or rectangular head-shaped, and the petals are commonly purple-red, occasionally appearing as lavender or white.

4. Fruit

The fruit of the globe amaranth is generally brown in color, looks very shiny, and is kidney-shaped. Its fruiting period is usually from June to September.
