How to grow Milan flowers

How to grow Milan flowers

1. Soil

Milan likes a slightly acidic environment. The soil and water in the north are sometimes alkaline, so you should add some regulators to the soil at this time, such as using a certain amount of leaf mold or adding some alum fertilizer water when watering, or you can add a few drops of edible vinegar, which can make it grow in an acidic environment. If it is an alkaline environment, it will develop chlorosis and the leaves will turn yellow.

2. Temperature

Milan likes high temperatures, and it is best to provide it with a growing environment of 25-30℃. When caring for it in the north, you must do a good job of keeping it warm in winter and prevent it from being in an environment below 10℃. It can survive normally in an environment around 0℃ for a short period of time. However, when the temperature is below 10℃, leaves will fall off and turn yellow. When caring for it in the north, especially during the winter, you should pay attention to temperature protection. In other seasons, it has a particularly strong tolerance to high temperatures.

3. Humidity

Milan likes moisture and requires a high humidity environment. When caring for it at home, try to place it in an environment it likes. If this is not possible, you can use spraying to increase the humidity of the growth space, or place some water around it, such as a fish tank, or you can spray water around the plant.

4. Watering

Watering should be appropriate. Excessive dryness and long-term waterlogging will cause root damage. Once injured, its leaves will quickly turn yellow. During maintenance, you will encounter a large number of leaves falling at the touch of a button. This may be due to improper water management causing root damage, which leads to leaf falling.

5. Fertilization

Milan has a relatively long flowering period. As long as the temperature is right and the nutrients are sufficient, it can bloom continuously. It will consume a lot of nutrients during the growth period, so it needs to be fertilized in time. During the growing period, fertilizer can be applied once a week. If the growth is vigorous, fertilizer can be applied every 3-4 days. Fertilizer must not be lacking during the growing period. When there is a lack of fertilizer, the leaves will turn light yellow, become smaller and affect the number of flowers. Adequate fertilizer is an important basis for normal growth and sufficient flowers.

6. Lighting

Milan needs sufficient light during its growth process, and the best light time is more than 10 hours a day. If there is insufficient light, the leaves will turn yellow and fall off. When caring for it indoors, it must be placed in an environment with sufficient light, otherwise it will grow weak. In severe cases, the leaves will turn yellow and fall off, or even die.
