How to take care of the newly bought Silver Queen

1. How to take care of the newly bought Silver Queen

For the newly bought Silver Queen, you can first choose suitable flower soil for it. Generally, you can choose relatively soft peat soil and mix it with a small amount of fine sand. Since it is currently in a relatively slow growth stage, there is no need for excessive watering and fertilization for the time being. Water it when the soil is dry and place it in a warm, ventilated place with scattered light for maintenance.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Soil: Silver Queen is suitable for growing in a slightly acidic soil environment. When planting, you can prepare some acidic and fertile humus soil, and then add some well-drained and breathable sandy soil, such as vermiculite, perlite, etc. Before potting, put some expanded clay at the bottom of the pot to increase the air permeability and water permeability of the soil.

2. Watering: When you first buy the Silver Queen, it has not yet adapted to the new environment, so you cannot water it too much. You need to reduce the amount of water as appropriate and water it again when the soil is dry. Under normal circumstances, it has a vigorous growth season in spring and autumn, and it needs more water at this time. Each watering must be thorough, and an average of 2 times a week is enough. In summer, the temperature is high, so you need to water the plant frequently to keep the soil moist. Water the plant once every two days on average, and spray water on the leaves of the plant regularly. In order to avoid frostbite of the plants in winter, you need to reduce the frequency of watering and keep the soil in the pot dry.

3. Light: Silver Queen prefers light but is afraid of strong light. When you just buy it, you can place it in a place with sufficient scattered light for maintenance. Do not place it directly in the sun, otherwise the leaves will easily get burned. It is recommended to keep it indoors for normal maintenance. When the sunlight is strong in the summer, it needs appropriate shade. When the temperature is relatively low in winter and the sunlight is not strong, it can be allowed to receive direct sunlight.

4. Temperature: Silver Queen is suitable for growing in a warm environment. When you first buy it, you can place it in an environment with a temperature of 22℃ to acclimate it. Under normal circumstances, its most suitable growth temperature is 20℃-24℃. During the high temperature period in summer, appropriate shade can be provided to cool it down. In winter, it should be kept indoors, and the minimum temperature should be at least above 5℃. In order to keep it safe through the winter, the winter temperature should be kept at around 10℃.

5. Fertilization: Silver Queen does not require much fertilizer, so it does not need to be fertilized when it is first bought. Under normal circumstances, during the growth period, you can apply thin fertilizer once every half a month. After fertilizing, you need to water it once to allow the plant to better absorb the nutrients.
