Farming methods

Pot soil selection

For potted tricolor croton, the size of the flowerpot should be determined according to the growth of the plant, and the soil needs to be loose and fertile. A mixture of leaf mold, peat soil and river sand can be used as the medium.

Light and temperature

The tricolor phylloxera likes a warm and bright growing environment. It can tolerate shade but avoid strong light. The suitable temperature for its growth is between 18℃ and 28℃, and the temperature must not be too low. It is generally necessary to shade it in summer to avoid strong light. In winter, the tricolor phylloxera needs to be placed in a warm room, keeping the temperature above 10℃ and at least not lower than 5℃, and it needs to be given sufficient light.

Water and fertilizer management

The water and fertilizer management of the tricolor ellipse needs to change according to the season. Basically, fertilizer can be applied once or twice a month. If it is an old plant for many years, it needs to be fertilized once a week. Keep the soil moist. In summer, you need to spray water on the plant frequently to increase the air humidity. In winter, you need to reduce watering. If you keep it indoors, you need to spray water frequently to prevent the tip from drying out.

Breeding precautions

Pests and diseases

Reproduction method

The main methods of propagation of Tricolor Elaeagnus are cuttings and layering. Cuttings are mainly carried out from June to October, and rooting is faster. Layering propagation is carried out in May-June.

Dry tip
