Cultivation methods and precautions of Tithonia suspensa

Cultivation methods and precautions of Tithonia suspensa

The habit of this plant

First of all, because the latitude of the original distribution area of this plant is relatively low, it has relatively high temperature requirements and is not frost-resistant. In addition, it is a plant that is highly dependent on light, so light must be guaranteed. It has relatively strong adaptability and can survive in various types of soil, so it doesn't matter if the soil quality is a little worse, ordinary sandy soil will be enough. It also has some requirements for water, but overall it has good drought resistance, so short-term water shortage will not have much impact on it. In addition, it also has certain requirements for fertilizers.

Specific methods

Temperature: Its specific temperature requirements are that the annual average temperature is around 16 degrees, and the temperature of the coldest month in winter should be above 8.4 degrees Celsius. If the winter temperature in southern provinces can meet the requirements, it can be placed outdoors for the winter without taking any anti-cold measures. However, if it is in some northern areas, it is necessary to take measures such as covering it with plastic film to help it survive the winter, and potted plants must be moved indoors.

Light: Whether it grows beside a road, on either side of a river or somewhere else, it needs sufficient light to maintain its vigorous needs. Especially in winter when the temperature is relatively low, sunlight is of special significance to its survival.

Water and fertilizer: As for water, generally speaking we need to combine dry and wet, and don’t water too much. As for fertilizer, organic fertilizer can be applied once or twice in late August. Then, apply another top dressing to the leaves from September to October to better promote flowering.

Precautions

When we apply fertilizer to it, we can combine it with pruning.
