The difference between Campanula and Forsythia

The difference between Campanula and Forsythia

Branches and trunks

The branches of Forsythia grow in a clustered manner. The branches are straight and expand outward from the center in an arch shape, like a small open umbrella. The branches are yellow-brown.

The branches of the campanula are straight and the twigs are yellow-green.

Distinguish between flowers and leaves

The leaves of Forsythia grow directly on the branches, while the flowers bloom at the junction of the leaves and branches; the flowers are golden yellow; Forsythia flowers usually bloom in groups of 3.

The leaves and flowers of campanula grow in the same way as those of forsythia, but campanula flowers do not always grow in groups of three; sometimes there is only one, sometimes two. The flower color is yellow-green.

The leaves of Forsythia grow opposite to each other, sometimes with three leaflets opposite each other, and sometimes with single leaflets opposite each other, with coarse serrations on the edges of the leaves.

The leaves of Campanula are not like those of Forsythia, which have single or multiple leaves. It has single leaves that grow in opposite directions. Its leaves have coarse serrations on the upper part.

Forsythia blooms twice, once in spring and once in winter.

Function distinction

Both campanula and forsythia have ornamental and medicinal value. However, Forsythia suspensa has strong water and soil conservation functions and is defined as an excellent variety in gardens. Campanula can absorb toxic gases in the air.

Their cultivation methods, reproduction methods, and daily care are very similar, including preferences, heat resistance, and drought resistance. In fact, it is not difficult to distinguish them, as long as you pay attention. For flower lovers, it doesn't matter which one you raise, just make sure you don't call the wrong name when cultivating it.
