The difference between Jianlan and Jianlan

Cymbidium

Jianlan is a terrestrial plant. It generally grows on moist hillsides or in rock crevices where there is water, and also grows in deep mountain valleys.

It prefers an environment with short sunshine hours and high air humidity, that is, it likes shade. It can grow healthily in sandy loam rich in humus or in mountain soil with good drainage.

The appearance of Jianlan is that the bulb of Jianlan is ovoid and hidden in the base of the leaves. The petals are narrow ovate-elliptical. The flowers are fragrant and the color changes, with light yellow-green mixed with purple spots.

Its flowering period is between June and October, and it blooms twice a year, the first time in mid-July and the second time in early August. Flowers grow densely and require a lot of nutrients, so they need to be properly cared for.

Jianlan is mainly used for gardening and ornamental purposes, while the whole plant is used as medicine for promoting blood circulation, relieving pain, etc.

gladiolus

Gladiolus is a perennial herb that usually grows in a warm, long-day environment.

Gladiolus requires sufficient light, stable temperature, and fertile sandy soil to grow. It likes phosphorus fertilizer, which can promote the growth of flowers.

The appearance of gladiolus is that the stem of gladiolus is upright, flattened, unbranched, and has alternate leaves underneath. The flowers are solitary and come in red, yellow, white, etc. The flowers have no pedicels, the anthers are linear, dark purple, and the filaments are white. The style is long and the stigma is flat and wide.

The main function of gladiolus is medicinal, and it is used to treat sore throat, lymphadenitis and other diseases.
