The difference of flowers

The flowers of Amaryllis are mostly red, mostly variegated, while the flowers of lilies are mostly pure white. Amaryllis will have 2-6 flowers on one flower stem, usually four flowers, while lilies usually only have one flower on one flower stem. There are also cases where there are two flowers on one flower stem, but it is not common.

Different flower stems

The flower stems of Amaryllis are relatively thick and hollow inside, while the flower stems of lilies are relatively thin.

The difference of leaves

The leaves of amaryllis are relatively long and grow directly from the bulb, while the leaves of lily are relatively short and grow on the flower stems. If viewed from above, the leaves of Amaryllis are mostly flat, with two symmetrical upper leaves visible, whereas the leaves of lily are cross-shaped and more uneven when viewed from above.

Although Amaryllis and lily look similar, flower lovers can find their differences if they observe carefully!
