How to care for Cineraria at home

How to care for Cineraria at home

Reproduction

You can use the sowing method, sow in July-August, provide a temperature of 20-25℃, and it will slowly sprout in about 10-20 days, and then you can repot.

soil

You can use ordinary leaf mold, mud, mix a small amount of sand and a little base fertilizer, keep it loose and do not allow water to accumulate.

temperature

Prevent the temperature from being too high during hot periods and try to control it at 10-20℃. The seedlings can survive at room temperature of 1℃. Taking appropriate cooling measures during flowering can prolong the flowering time.

illumination

During the peak growth period, it should receive sufficient sunlight, keep moist and warm, and move indoors when it sees flowers. Do not ensure that the other three directions except the north window receive 4 hours of sunlight. Keep changing the direction of the plant to allow it to grow evenly.

Moisture

Make the soil slightly moist and water it completely at one time. Pay attention to normal drainage and water supply in hot weather.

Fertilization

During the growing season, you can apply some diluted fertilizer. The process should avoid the fertilizer touching the leaves. Then go through the rinsing step and spray the new lipid film. Plants in the bud stage can be fertilized with flower stem strengthener to make the buds healthy and the flowers more beautiful. Please do not fertilize during the flowering period.

Diseases

The plant is susceptible to attack by red spider mites and aphids, so it is necessary to control environmental conditions, discover and remove diseased branches as early as possible, or spray a small amount of pesticide. If the disease is serious, you can focus on spraying 2000 times diluted malathion on the back of the leaves and the top of the cineraria, and also spray other parts.

Pests

Common insect pests of cineraria are aphids and red spiders. For those that cause serious damage, you can use 2000 times diluted malathion solution to spray them. Because red spider mites generally occur on the back of leaves, and aphids generally occur on the tender top of cineraria, when spraying, focus on the back of the leaves and the top of the plant, and also spray the front of the leaves appropriately.
