DIY│Teach you how to play with succulent murals

Step 1

Keep 1-2 inches of the succulent plant stems and remove the leaves at the bottom. This will help the roots to grow from the leaf nodes where the leaves were removed.

When planting, place the cut plants in a tray for two or three days. It’s okay if they wilt a little, as this will help the wounds from pruning to recover and reduce the possibility of wound rot later.

Step 2

Prepare old photos by removing the glass or other framing materials. Prepare the remaining materials: nails, wire mesh, plywood backing, etc.

Step 3

Nail the two frames together, increase the depth of the frame container to fill the soil, and do a good job of waterproofing.

Step 4

Place the chicken wire on the frame and nail it down.

Step 5

Place plywood padding to serve as a background backing.

Step 6

Paint to make the color of the frame more coordinated. It is recommended to apply waterproof paint.

Step 7

Fill the planting medium on the frame of the succulent wall. It is recommended to mix peat soil and granular soil, which has the characteristics of both water retention and air permeability.

Step 8

In the medium fixed by the wire, use chopsticks to poke small holes suitable for planting succulents.

Step 9

Plant the succulents.

Step 10

Pay attention to the matching of succulents and design a good succulent wall style

Step 11

Place the newly planted "succulent wall" outdoors for a week or two, gradually increase the sunlight, and control the amount of watering during this period. Finally, place the succulent wall where you like and enjoy it by yourself.
