How to care for the newly bought yellow rose

How to care for the newly bought yellow rose

1. Soil

The newly purchased yellow rose generally does not need to change the soil. However, if the garden soil has become compacted, it should be replaced in time. Rosa rugosa has low requirements for soil, is relatively resistant to barrenness and drought, and can survive in alkaline soil. When repotting, you can use sandy loam planting soil, which is conducive to its growth. You can mix garden soil and river sand.

2. Environment

When you just buy it, it is best to place it at a indoor temperature of about 25℃ to acclimate it to the environment. If it is winter, it should be kept at least above 10℃ to prevent it from frostbite. When caring for it at home, do not place it in places where it will be exposed to direct sunlight, such as balconies, in the summer. Prolonged exposure to the sun will cause the leaf stripes to become dim or even disappear, so be sure to provide it with shade.

3. Watering

It is relatively drought-resistant, and slight drought will not cause much impact. You can water it as soon as it is dry. Generally speaking, watering it once every three days is sufficient. However, water must not accumulate in the soil for a long time, as this can easily lead to root rot.

4. Fertilization

Generally, when repotting, you can use some organic fertilizer as base fertilizer. Generally speaking, it does not require fertilization. You can fertilize it once after flowering, which will be beneficial for flowering next year.

5. Pruning

Prune after flowering, cut off dead flowers and branches, and reduce nutrient consumption. Pruning should also be done after the leaves fall, cutting off overly dense branches and leaves to enhance internal ventilation.
