What to do if hyacinth leaves turn yellow

What to do if hyacinth leaves turn yellow

1. Regulate moisture

(1) Specific reasons: Too much or too little water may cause the leaves of hyacinth to turn yellow. As in the previous case, the young leaves turn yellow, while the old leaves remain almost unchanged. If it is the latter case, the old leaves will turn yellow and the new leaves will generally remain unchanged. Based on this, you can determine whether there is too much or too little water.

(2) Solution: After determining the situation, appropriate measures must be taken. If there is too much water, watering needs to be strictly controlled. In serious cases, the plant needs to be removed from the pot and placed in a cool place to dry for a period of time before being put back in the pot. If there is too little water, increase the amount of watering appropriately.

2. Adjust fertilizer

(1) Specific reason: Too much or too little fertilizer is not good. Too much quantity or too high a concentration can easily lead to fertilizer damage and cause the leaves to turn yellow. If the amount is too little, the plant will not get fertilizer and the leaves will turn yellow.

(2) Solution: First determine which situation it is. Then, if there is too much fertilizer, stop fertilizing and rinse with appropriate amount of clean water. If there is too little fertilizer, apply it thinly and frequently, and remember to change the pot.

3. Place in a cool place

(1) Specific reason: If the light is too strong, it can easily burn the leaves and cause them to turn yellow, which is called "burning yellow".

(2) Solution: Place it in a cool and ventilated place in time. Wait until it returns to normal before providing scattered light.

4. Replace soil and water

(1) Specific reasons: If the cultivation soil is alkaline, or the water used for watering is alkaline, the leaves may turn yellow.

(2) Solution: In addition to changing the soil and water, ferrous sulfate can also be used.
