The flower language of perfume grass and the legend behind it

The flower language of fragrant grass is "dedication", and behind this flower language is a sad and beautiful folk legend.

It is said that during the Western Han Dynasty, when the emperor was selecting a concubine, a woman named Wang Zhaojun was chosen. In order to escape the cold and lonely life in the palace, she escaped one night. She kept walking until she reached the Bingshu Baojian Gorge on the other side of the Yangtze River and she could not walk anymore. At this time, she saw a small boat on the river, so she shouted: Get on the boat!

The boat docked, and on board was a simple, handsome young boatman and an old man with a white beard. Seeing that she was worried, the old man asked, "Why are you traveling alone in the middle of the night?" Zhaojun told him the truth, and both of them felt very sympathetic towards her situation.

The young boatman Shuisheng was very capable and was very considerate and caring towards Zhaojun on the way, which deeply moved Zhaojun. After several days of sailing, they arrived at Zhaojun's uncle's house. Later, Zhaojun and Shuisheng fell in love. Zhaojun would go to see if Shuisheng was safe on his boat every day, and their life was very peaceful. However, Zhaojun's escape to her uncle's house was eventually discovered, and the emperor sent people to escort Zhaojun back to Chang'an. Zhaojun and Shuisheng were heartbroken. Zhaojun's tears fell on the river bank and turned into scented grass. The scented grass stood facing the wind and made a sound of "Brother - goodbye, take care", which was very sad.
