However, Zhaojun's escape to her uncle's house was eventually discovered, and the emperor sent people to escort Zhaojun back to Chang'an. Zhaojun and Shuisheng were heartbroken. Zhaojun's tears fell on the river bank and turned into scented grass. The scented grass stood facing the wind and made a sound of "Brother - goodbye, take care", which was very sad.
