How to grow hyacinth hydroponically

How to grow hyacinth hydroponically

1. Operations before hyacinth hydroponics

1. Add clean water to the glass bottle, but make sure the water level does not just reach the bottom of the bulb.

2. Use an ordinary glass cup or a special flower glass bottle to grow it. The bottle is divided into two parts, the upper part is small and the lower part is large;

3. A glass cup can be hung from the mouth of the cup using a lead wire as a tray.

4. Fill the lower part with water and put a piece of charcoal in the water to prevent water and odor.

5. Select extra large bulbs, place them five centimeters away from the mouth of the cup, immerse them in water, and place them in the sun.

6. When the buds grow to five centimeters, place them in a dark place. After the roots have fully grown, place them in a warm place without direct sunlight. Add water frequently to ensure that the moisture reaches the bulb. When leaves and flower buds grow out, expose them to sunlight for one or two hours every day to make the leaves and flower stalks strong; adjust them in one direction every day to prevent them from growing to one side.

7. No fertilizer is needed, and a bright and fragrant hyacinth will bloom in March or April of the following year. After the flowers fade, take out the plants with the roots and plant them in potting soil. When the leaves wither, dig them up and store them away. You can plant them again next year.

2. Maintenance methods

1. Place the plant in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place at a temperature between 9°C and 13°C. Check it once a week to see if it needs water.

2. When the flower buds grow 8 cm from the bulb (about 10 to 12 weeks) and the glass bottle is full of roots, the hyacinth can be moved into the greenhouse.

3. In an environment where the temperature in your home is maintained at 17°C to 20°C, you will enjoy the buds growing and coloring process. But don't place them directly near a heat source, so that the beautiful hyacinth flowers can stay open longer.

4. After flowering, you can plant the bulbs in your home garden. In the summer you can use glass bottles for flower arrangements, and in the winter you can buy a processed hyacinth for reuse.
