Habits

The lotus palm likes a warm, dry and sunny environment. In winter, the temperature must be kept at around 10℃, and the lotus palm can safely overwinter. The lotus palm needs sufficient light for healthy growth and can tolerate partial shade. It will grow poorly in too much shade, resulting in a loose plant shape, dull leaves, and lack of vitality.

It can be used as a mini ornament to decorate dining tables, windowsills and children's bookshelves.

Hydroponics Method

1. Remove the potted plants from the pots, wash the roots and then grow them in water.

2. Pick a leaf or a runner and insert it into river sand. New roots will sprout in about 15-20 days. After a small plant grows, it is advisable to grow it in a mini container with water.

3. It is not moisture-resistant, and the plant should be grown in water as long as the roots are in the water.

4. Use clean water for maintenance in hot summer and cold winter; use low-concentration nutrient solution for cultivation in spring and autumn.

5. Be sure to place it in a place with good lighting. If the plant is placed in a hidden place for a long time, it will easily grow too tall and the leaves will become sparse.
