How to plant cactus in a pot

How to plant cactus in a pot

Choice of potting soil

The soil should be a humus soil made by mixing garden soil with wood ash, coarse sand, etc.; plant it in a pot in early spring, and the size of the pot should be large enough to accommodate the sphere with some space.

How to water

When potting the cactus, you should put about 3 cm of broken tiles on the bottom of the pot. This is conducive to the drainage of the potting soil. After the cactus is potted, spray water 2-3 times a day. After half a month, you can apply a small amount of water. New roots will grow after a month. At this time, gradually increase the amount of watering.

During the winter overwintering period, the Yangge Kongshi should be watered to keep the soil in the pot dry and not too moist, otherwise it will cause root rot and frostbite.

As the temperature gradually rises the following year, the plants will no longer be dormant, so the amount of watering can be appropriately increased. Water when the soil is dry and pay attention to loosening the soil in time. The water supply should be appropriately increased during flowering.

Precautions

1. For some cacti with concave tops, be careful not to cause root rot when watering.

2. The cactus should be repotted every 1-2 years. When repotting, be sure to remove rotten roots, old roots, and some dust. After drying, put it in the pot and replace it with new soil.

3. It should be placed in a place with sufficient light for maintenance in spring, and appropriate shade is needed in summer. The indoor temperature should be kept above 5℃ in winter.
