What should I do if the roses are all over but won't bloom?

What should I do if the roses are all over but won't bloom?

1. Increase lighting

Reason: Rose is a light-loving plant. If there is insufficient light, it will not bloom or bloom late.

Solution: Move it to a place where it can receive sufficient light. It can be placed on the balcony or windowsill indoors to receive long-term sunlight. In summer, appropriate shade should be provided at noon to avoid strong sunlight that may cause poor plant growth.

2. Drainage and root pruning

Reason: Overwatering the rose or causing water accumulation due to rain will cause the roots to rot and affect the flowering of the plant.

Solution: Drain the water from the flowerpot and remove the plant from the pot. Check the condition of the roots and cut off any rotten roots immediately. Then apply a little carbendazim and replant in dry soil. Daily watering can keep it moist, but avoid stagnant water.

3. Appropriate fertilization

Reason: Roses cannot grow without sufficient nutrients. Insufficient fertilization or excessive nitrogen fertilizer application will affect their flowering.

Solution: Add fertilizer to the rose in time. Fertilizers are mainly phosphorus fertilizers, supplemented by potassium fertilizers, and little or no nitrogen fertilizers are applied. Dilute the fertilizer with water before applying it to avoid concentrated fertilizer burning the roots of the plant.

4. Pruning

Reason: If there are too many branches and they are too dense, and there is no bud thinning, the plant will not bloom due to insufficient nutrient supply.

Solution: Prune the branches appropriately and remove some flower buds. Newly grown branches generally only retain 1 flower bud, while old branches can retain 2-3.
