How to solve the problem of green radish emitting bad smell

How to solve the problem of green radish emitting bad smell

1. Drainage and loosening of soil

Reason: Although the green radish can survive with water, it does not mean that the more water it gets, the better it will live. Soaking in water for a long time will hinder the breathing of the roots and breed bacteria, causing them to rot, making them smell bad.

Solution: For root rot caused by excessive watering, the first thing to do is to drain the accumulated water. If there is no accumulation of water but the soil is too wet, you need to remove the plant and replace it with dry potting soil. Check the roots of the plants that have been taken out, cut off the rotten roots, and apply a little carbendazim for disinfection. If the soil is moderately moist, loosening the soil appropriately will speed up evaporation.

2. Dilute Fertilizer

Reason: The demand for fertilizer of the green radish is not too great, especially in autumn and winter. Fertilizer buildup can cause root burn and foul odors.

Solution: If the fertilizer concentration is high and the frequency is fast, this will cause the greatest damage to the green radish. It is necessary to remove it from the pot in time and check the root rot. If it is too serious, the whole plant must be discarded. If the problem is not serious, trim off the rotten roots and replant with sterilized soil. If it has not been long since fertilizing, you can clean the soil in the pot with water. If it has been a while since you applied the fertilizer, you can dilute it with water.

3. Ventilation and dehumidification

Reason: If the environment is not well ventilated, the air quality will be reduced, which can easily lead to pests and diseases. At the same time, poor breathing and lack of oxygen in the leaves can also cause them to stink.

Solution: Place the green radish in a place with good air circulation. If the environment is humid, ventilate and dehumidify it in time to avoid the breeding of bacteria and various diseases.
