What to do if the leaves of gardenia curl

What to do if the leaves of gardenia curl

1. Too much watering

This is the most likely reason. We usually need to water it, but don't keep watering it just because it likes humid growing conditions. Because once too much water is added, the excess water cannot be absorbed or evaporated, and it is easy for water to accumulate in the flower soil. Once water accumulates in the soil, its roots may rot. Once there is a problem with its roots, it will not be able to absorb water and nutrients from the soil normally. The leaves may curl up if they are not supplied with water and nutrients.

Solution: This requires us to take different treatment methods depending on the severity of the symptoms. If the situation is serious and most of the leaves begin to curl, we need to take the entire plant out of the soil, use scissors to cut off all the rotten and blackened roots, then replant it in the pot and put it in a cool place for two days; if the situation is relatively minor, we can put it directly in a ventilated place and blow dry the soil.

2. Too much light

If you place it in a place with too strong light for a long time, its leaves may curl up because they cannot withstand such strong light.

Solution: This situation is easier to solve. First, put it in a cool place, then cut off the leaves that are severely curled, and sprinkle some medicine on the wound for disinfection. After it recovers, slowly increase the intensity and time of light exposure until it is consistent with normal maintenance methods.

3. Pests and diseases

In addition to the above two reasons, this reason may also cause its leaf edges to curl.

Solution: First determine what disease it has, then buy the corresponding medicine, spray and treat it.
