Why don't potted figs bear fruit?

Why don't potted figs bear fruit?

Insufficient light

When caring for figs in potted plants, if they are placed in a place with little sunlight for a long time, they will not bear fruit.

If the figs do not bear fruit due to insufficient light, you first need to increase ventilation and light. Prune the branches and leaves, and pinch off the top when the branches grow to 7-9 leaves, then pinch off the top a second time and remove some of the fruits. This not only enhances ventilation and light transmission, but also improves the quality of the fruit.

No trimming

If figs are not pruned properly during cultivation, they will not bear fruit. This is because if they are not pruned in time during the cultivation period, the nutritional organs will grow vigorously and consume too many nutrients, which is very unfavorable for the results. Therefore, when growing figs, you should pinch the branches in time when they are growing vigorously. This can promote the fruiting of figs, so that the results will be better, otherwise the results will be very poor.

Too much nitrogen fertilizer

During the growing period of figs, if too much nitrogen fertilizer is used, the figs will grow wildly but will not bloom or bear fruit. Nitrogen fertilizer can be used during the growth period of figs, but be careful not to use too much. When the fruits begin to appear, stop using nitrogen fertilizer. You can apply some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers appropriately, so that the fruit will grow better.

Flowers not pollinated

Figs sometimes do not produce fruit because the flowers are not pollinated. The flowers of figs are generally not very obvious. If you find that the figs are not bearing fruit, first check whether the figs have flowers. If they do, check whether the flowers have stamens. If so, they will generally bear fruit. Then we need to look for reasons from other aspects.
