Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of osmanthus

Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of osmanthus

1. Excessive watering

1. Cause: Excessive watering or too sticky soil may cause water accumulation in the soil. Part of its roots will be soaked in water, and in severe cases will even rot, which will greatly affect the root's breathing, insufficient nutrient absorption, and malnutrition of the plant leading to the appearance of yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: If the yellow leaves are in a small area, you can stop watering and ventilate more to dry the soil in the pot. If the yellowing leaves are serious, remove the plant from the pot, let the soil dry, check the roots, and cut off any rotten roots.

2. Improper fertilization

1. Reason: If too much fertilizer is applied each time or uncomposted fertilizer is used, its roots may be burned. This will cause some roots to be unable to absorb nutrients, and malnutrition will cause the leaves to turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: If the yellowing area is large, it is best to cut off the severely yellowed leaves immediately, and then use running water to flush fertilizer or change the soil. Be careful not to damage the roots when changing the soil, and then replant.

3. Too little light

1. Reason: It needs a certain amount of light. If it is planted or placed on the shady side, it will be exposed to too little sunlight, or the light intensity will be insufficient, which will cause its leaves to turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: If planted on the shady side, it is recommended to transplant it if conditions permit, and give it at least 6 hours of light per day. If you want to grow it at home, it is recommended to place it in a balcony or other place to ensure enough light.
