Citrus mealybug damage

Citrus mealybug is a common pest that harms many types of flowers. The adults and nymphs suck the sap from branches and leaves, causing the plants to grow slowly and the branches and leaves to become deformed and wrinkled. In severe cases, they can induce sooty mold disease, affecting the ornamental effect. They parasitize on the leaves of Monstera, making them filthy.

Prevention and treatment methods

When there are few insects, scrape them off in time, clean the leaves, and wipe off any traces of the growth of insects and diseases.

When the pest is serious, spray 1500 times diluted 50% carbofuran or 1000 times diluted 50% phoxim in the larval hatchery once every 10 days for 2 to 3 times.

When Monstera has lush branches and leaves, be sure to prune it in time, and ensure that it is ventilated and light-permeable so as not to create growth space for pests and diseases.

Prevention and treatment methods

When maintaining it at home, you can gently brush it off with a toothbrush or rinse it with water.

When the occurrence is large, 1000 times diluted 40% oxydemeton-methyl emulsifiable concentrate can be sprayed during the nymph stage.

Ensure that the maintenance environment of Monstera has sufficient sunlight, open windows frequently for ventilation, and control humidity. Take care of the leaves of Monstera regularly to ensure they are shiny and clean.
