Can a cactus survive if it rots?

Can a cactus survive if it rots?

1. Can I still live?

Cactus can be saved after it rots, just cut off the rotten parts and disinfect and dry them properly. After it dries, replant it and place it in a cool place to wait for it to take root. As long as new roots grow, it means the plant has been saved.

2. How to treat

1. Proper pruning: The rotten parts of the cactus not only cannot provide nutrients, but will continue to be infected, so they must all be cut off. Before pruning, disinfect the scissors with potassium permanganate solution to prevent bacteria on the scissors from infecting the wound.

2. Dry the wound: The pruned cactus cannot be planted immediately. Wait until its wound recovers. Place the plant in a cool, ventilated place and wait for it to dry. It cannot be placed in a sunny place, otherwise it will lose water seriously due to sunlight, reducing the possibility of survival.

3. Replanting: Wait until the wound of the cactus dries and shrinks, then you can replant it. Prepare well-ventilated sandy soil as the substrate and water it a little to make it slightly moist. Plant the plants inside, but don't bury them too deep.

4. Subsequent maintenance: Place the planted cactus in a well-ventilated place where it can receive some scattered light. The temperature should be properly controlled to avoid high or low temperatures affecting its growth. A larger temperature difference between day and night is more conducive to its recovery.
