What to do if the banana has root rot and frostbite

Root rot of the banana

Causes of root rot

Generally, the reason for the root rot of the beautiful leaf phthalate is root rot caused by overwatering.

Root rot prevention methods

It is necessary to promptly pour the plant out of the pot, shake off some of the old soil, place it in a semi-shaded and cool place to dry for 1-2 days, and then replace it with new sandy loam for planting. In the future, the pot should not be too large, and watering should not be too frequent. Watering should be done when the soil in the pot is 70% dry. There must not be a rigid watering interval, and watering should be flexible.

If the root rot is severe, it is best to shake off all the soil, then soak it in 500 times potassium permanganate or carbendazim solution for 5-10 minutes, then rinse it with clean water, and then let the roots dry before replanting.

Frost damage of Pinus melongena

Causes of frostbite

When the temperature drops below 5℃ in winter, coupled with moist soil in the pot, the plant's pinnate leaves can easily fall over due to cold damage. In severe cases, it can cause tuber rot, making it difficult to restore its vitality.

Frostbite prevention and treatment

Whether it is productive cultivation or family farming, the greenhouse temperature during the winter should be maintained at no less than 10°C, and the potting soil should be kept slightly dry. For a small number of potted plants, on particularly cold days, you can cover them with double-layer plastic bags at night and remove the bags after the temperature rises the next day.
