How to propagate the safflower

Artificial transplantation

Zhaoshanbai prefers acidic soil, so when transplanting, the soil selected should contain some humus, and the soil should be loose, and air permeability and drainage should not be ignored. Generally, trees are dug up in late autumn or early spring, and it must be done during the dormant period of Zhaoshanbai. They should be planted in time after digging, and watering and shading should be done. When planting, first trim off roots that are too long or diseased. When planting, you can take some humus soil from the place where the Atractylodes macrocephala grows to help the roots retain moisture and grow. When planting, it is not advisable to plant too deep. It is best to shake the roots while burying them. After that, you need to water it thoroughly at once, and cover it with a layer of loose soil after it seeps in. It should be noted that it is best to use rainwater, river water or pond water.

Seed propagation

First, you need to collect the seeds. You can slowly pick the seeds from the mother tree by hand, and it is best not to damage the mother tree. After picking them, put them in a cloth bag or paper bag, making sure it has good air permeability. Let it air-dry and crack, then shake out the seeds. You should also choose a site that has good sunlight and is sheltered from the wind, with loose and fertile soil, and air permeability and drainage must not be ignored. Before starting to plant, soak it in lukewarm water at 25 degrees for 24 hours, then add twice the amount of fine sand and stir it before sowing. After sprinkling the seeds, cover them with 1 cm of mountain soil, press it down and put some pine needles on it. Then you can water it. Make sure the soil is watered thoroughly at once and you're done.
