Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of Rieger Begonia

Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of Rieger Begonia

1. Temperature discomfort

1. Reason: Begonia is not resistant to high temperatures. Once the temperature exceeds 22 degrees, Begonia will grow very slowly. If the temperature reaches 30 degrees, the Regis Begonia will stop growing and its leaves will turn yellow and white.

2. Treatment method: If the temperature is too high, make some appropriate temperature adjustments, and then lower the temperature as soon as possible to the temperature suitable for the growth of Begonia, preferably around 18-22 degrees.

2. Excessive fertilization

1. Reason: Begonia does not require much fertilizer. If too much fertilizer is applied, the roots will not be able to fully absorb it and will be burned, resulting in yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: Stop fertilizing first, then fill the soil with water to let the excess fertilizer flow out of the pot with the water. Don't apply too much fertilizer in the later stage, just an appropriate amount will do.

3. Pests cause

1. Reason: Begonia may also be susceptible to diseases and pests, such as red spider mites, aphids, etc. They feed on the leaves of the Reiger Begonia, causing damage to the plant and causing the entire leaf to turn yellow and wither.

2. It is necessary to strengthen fertilizer and water management to increase the resistance of Begonia, and spray chemical pesticides such as dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane for prevention and control.
