How to grow moss to make it green

Moss Growth Conditions

It is best not to keep moss in a dark place. You can provide scattered light or a semi-shaded environment. It is not drought-tolerant and prefers a humid environment. During maintenance, you need to spray water more to keep it moist. Keep the relative humidity of the air above 80%. The temperature should not be lower than 22 degrees, and it is best to be above 25 degrees.

How to grow moss

Moss likes a warm environment. The temperature cannot be lower than 20 degrees, and it is best to keep it above 25 degrees. Although moss likes a cool environment, it also likes light. Diffused light is more conducive to the growth of moss.

Moss Watering

1. Multiple watering method: If you water at one time or water too quickly, the moss may not have time to transport water, and the water will flow out of the flowerpot through the dense leaf tips. When watering, leave a few minutes between watering, and water 3 to 5 times.

2. Immersion pot method: For some mosses that are not seriously short of water, the half-pot immersion method is generally used. First, take a pot and add some water. The amount of water should be enough to soak half the height of the pot. Then put the moss bonsai or moss jade into the pot and soak it for 5 to 10 minutes. Finally, take it out and drain the water.

3. Soaking method: For some mosses that are seriously lacking in water, it is recommended to use the soaking method. As usual, take a basin and add some water. The amount of water should be more than enough to soak the moss bonsai or moss jade. Then put the moss bonsai or moss jade into the basin. Soak the moss bonsai for 5 to 10 minutes. It is best when there are no bubbles in the moss jade. Finally, take it out and drain the water.

Moss Fertilization

When fertilizing moss, you need to choose the right method and control the amount. You can apply some solid fertilizer, but avoid the moss when fertilizing and place the fertilizer directly on the soil.

How to grow moss at home

If you want to care for moss at home, you can provide peat soil, slightly acidic soil made of rotten leaves, maintain a moist growing environment, avoid direct sunlight, and it is best to maintain it in diffuse light. It can be propagated by division, budding or spore sowing. Division propagation is to separate the plant from the mother plant and plant it in a high humidity environment. It will survive in a week, while budding propagation is to separate the adventitious buds for growth.

Moss maintenance precautions

Moss cannot tolerate direct sunlight, so it is best to move it to a cool place for maintenance in summer. In addition, it likes a humid environment, so to maintain a moist growth environment, use more spray to maintain a high air humidity, and water it thoroughly while avoiding water accumulation.
