How to grow and water Mo Lan in winter

How to grow and water Mo Lan in winter

1. Adequate sunlight

It has relatively high requirements for light and should be placed in an environment with good light. Especially in winter, the light is very soft and can be maintained in full sunlight. If there is insufficient light, the plant will become very weak and the accumulation of nutrients will be reduced, which will affect its flowering and growth next year.

2. Suitable temperature

It likes high temperature environment. The temperature is low in winter, so the temperature must be controlled in time. It should be provided with a warm environment above 10 degrees to avoid frostbite. It is best to place it on the balcony where air circulation is good and conducive to growth. Take advantage of the high temperature at noon to ventilate more.

3. Watering in moderation

The plant has a very high water requirement during the growing season and needs to be watered frequently to maintain moisture. However, the growth rate of the plants will slow down in winter and the water requirement will decrease, so watering should be reduced. Keep the flowerpot relatively dry, do not water excessively, and avoid water accumulation, so as not to affect growth. Otherwise, frost damage may occur.

4. Stop fertilizing

Its growth is limited in winter, and the nutrients contained in the soil are generally sufficient to meet normal growth needs, so no fertilizer is needed. If fertilizer is applied at this time, it will be difficult for the plant to absorb all of it. Over time, it will cause fertilizer damage and easily burn the roots.
