Seabuckthorn sowing and seedling raising technology, seabuckthorn sowing time

1. Sowing time

Sea buckthorn sowing is divided into spring sowing and autumn sowing. The time of spring sowing is not fixed, it can be from February to May, while autumn sowing is mostly in late autumn, between September and October. This plant has a strong adaptability to the environment and can grow in both high and low temperatures, but the seedlings are relatively fragile, so it is still necessary to provide a warm environment to avoid affecting subsequent development.

2. Seed Soaking and Germination

Before preparing for sowing, the sea buckthorn seeds must be germinated first. Soak the seeds in warm water at 40-60℃ for about a day. Take them out and replace them with a low concentration of potassium permanganate solution. The concentration should not exceed 2%. This can effectively disinfect and reduce the possibility of seedlings getting sick. Then keep it in a moist place, and when one-third of the seeds have cracked, you can sow them.

3. Land preparation and sowing

In order to make sea buckthorn grow better, the land needs to be prepared first. After leveling the soil, apply organic fertilizer as base fertilizer, then deep plow it and bury the fertilizer underneath. Sow the germinated seeds into the soil with a row spacing of about 10-15 cm and bury them 3 cm into the soil. After sowing, you need to water it appropriately so that it can germinate quickly. Generally, seedlings will emerge in about a week.

4. Seedling cultivation and maintenance

After sea buckthorn grows the first pair of true leaves, thinning is necessary, removing the weaker seedlings and retaining the strong seedlings to continue growing. When the fourth pair of true leaves grows, thinning out the seedlings for the second time is needed, maintaining a 5 cm plant spacing so that the seedlings can develop better. During the seedling period, pay attention to maintaining temperature and humidity, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
