When does hibiscus sprout and grow leaves

Hibiscus germination time

Since the climate in the south is relatively mild, hibiscus can germinate in spring, summer and autumn in the south. In the north, it generally germinates in March and April of the lunar calendar. If it is kept indoors in winter with a suitable temperature, it can also germinate, so it can basically germinate in all four seasons.

The flowering of hibiscus is actually different because of different regions. Generally, it blooms earlier in the south and later in the north. In Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions, it blooms in June, and the peak flowering period is from August to September. After October, the flowering decreases. In southern China, hibiscus usually starts to bloom in May.

Requirements for germination and leaf growth of Hibiscus

Soil requirements: Hibiscus has no requirements for soil, and can grow normally in poor or slightly alkaline soil, but fertile and loose soil will make it grow better and the flowers will be brighter.

Temperature requirements: Hibiscus has a certain degree of cold resistance and prefers a warm environment. The best growth temperature is about 18-25℃.

Climate conditions: Hibiscus likes an environment with sufficient light, but not too strong. It needs to be shaded when the sun is the strongest in summer to prevent the plant from wilting due to lack of water. Hibiscus likes warm and humid climates and is relatively cold-resistant, but it needs to be protected over the winter when cultivated in northern regions. It likes water and humidity but is drought-resistant.

Hibiscus planting time

Hibiscus is mostly planted or propagated in early spring or the rainy season, or in late autumn or early winter. It is very easy to take root and survive. In particular, the soil is added to the root base of the mother plant to allow it to grow more branches. After the buds grow for 1 to 2 years, they are dug and transplanted with some roots. It is easier to survive and propagate. Before germination in spring, cut branches 20-25 cm long and insert them in the sand bed. They will take root in about 30 days.
