How to manage potted dragon fruit in winter? Are you afraid of freezing?

1. Winter management

1. Temperature control: Usually, if the temperature is kept above 0℃ during the winter, the plant can basically survive the winter. However, in order for it to survive the winter more smoothly, it is best to adjust the temperature to above 5℃.

2. Shelter from the wind: In winter, place it in a sheltered place and avoid being blown by cold storms. Sometimes, even if the temperature is not very low, the plants can still be easily frozen if blown by the cold wind. Potted plants usually need to be moved indoors in winter.

3. Exposure to light: It itself likes light, and giving it sufficient light during the winter will be very beneficial for it to survive the winter. It is recommended to place it near a window indoors so that it can get more sunlight. It will easily get frozen even if the temperature is not high.

4. Water control: When the temperature is low, the plant may temporarily enter a dormant state. At this time, the root activity will deteriorate. Water it less and keep it dry. In the spring of the second year, you can slowly resume watering.

2. Are you afraid of freezing?

Dragon fruit is a tropical fruit that can tolerate high temperatures but is afraid of freezing. If the maintenance temperature is lower than 0℃, it will not be able to bear it and will suffer frost damage. When growing in potted plants, anti-freeze measures need to be taken, otherwise it will be difficult to survive the winter.
