Lily propagation technology, when to propagate

Lily propagation technology, when to propagate

1. Reproduction Technology

1. Sub-ball: This method is relatively simple and convenient, and the operation is also quick. Some small bulbs will grow around the mother plant of lily, which can be broken off and used for reproduction.

2. Scales: Choose relatively sturdy bulbs, then remove some of the old skin on the outside and choose the healthy scales inside, which should be large and thick. Such scales are rich in nutritional value and are suitable for cultivating new plants. Prepare suitable soil, then rinse the peeled scales with water, place them aside to dry, and then insert them into the soil for cultivation.

3. Seeds: This method is suitable for varieties that can produce seeds. The seeds will mature in autumn, at which time you can pick them. Then prepare the seedbed for sowing, sow the seeds, cover them with fine soil, and keep them warm. They will grow faster in spring.

4. Beadles: For some varieties of lilies, small bulbs, called bulbils, will appear at the roots of the leaves after the buds disappear. The bulbils will mature in summer and turn purple-black in color. At this time, the mature bulbils can be harvested, and then the soil can be prepared for sowing.

2. When to breed

Lilies are suitable for breeding in autumn, preferably from September to October, when the climate is more suitable and the survival rate of breeding is higher.
