How often should I change the water for my green radish?

How often should I change the water for my green radish?

1. How often should you change the water?

When it first starts hydroponics, the roots have not yet grown. At this time, in order to encourage it to take root as quickly as possible, the water should be changed more frequently. The water can be changed every 2-3 days to provide fresh nutrients for the plant and promote root growth. It will take root in about a week of maintenance. After the root system grows stably, the frequency of water changes can be reduced, and the water can be changed about once every 10 days. In subsequent maintenance, there is no need to change the water too frequently. It is still advisable to change the water every 7-10 days or so, as long as the water quality is not turbid. The growth is relatively slow in winter, so the frequency of water changes can be reduced, and the water can be changed every 15-20 days. If the frequency of water changes is too high, it will be detrimental to root stability and will affect growth.

2. How to change water

1. Water quality: The water quality can be replaced with well water, which is more suitable for hydroponics and can provide sufficient nutrients. If conditions do not permit, you can also use tap water that has been allowed to stand. Do not use it directly. Take it out and put it aside to dry for a few days to ensure that the chlorine evaporates and the water temperature is comparable to room temperature, so as not to cause damage to the roots.

2. Change water: Pour out the water in the bottle, rinse it with clean water, and disinfect it. The roots of the plant should also be cleaned and pruned appropriately, then fill the bottle with water and insert the plant.
