Best time to water grapes

Best time to water grapes

1. Before germination

Before the grapes sprout, it is an important time period for watering. Watering this time can promote germination and meet the needs of sprouting and branching. If the plant is not watered in time after emergence from the soil, it may be affected by dry winds, resulting in poor germination and even drying of branches.

2. Before and After Flowers

The plants need to be watered thoroughly 10 days before flowering and 10 days after the flowers fall. Before flowering, new shoots and inflorescences grow rapidly, transpiration is very strong, and the water demand is relatively high. After the flowers fall, the new shoots have gradually grown thicker, the leaves have also grown rapidly, and the roots absorb more vigorously. This is a critical period for water and fertilizer needs.

3. When berries are colored

The period when the grown berries begin to color is the peak period of growth. At this time, the growth is rapid and the inflorescence develops rapidly. Adequate supply of fertilizer and water is required, otherwise the yield and quality will be affected.

4. Berry Ripening Period

During the period when berries ripen, if the moisture in the soil is appropriate, the fruit can grow well, the yield can be guaranteed, and the sugar content will be high. If water is difficult to supply, the development of the berries will be problematic, so an appropriate amount of watering is required, but not excessively, otherwise the sugar content will also decrease.
