If you want to increase the yield of eggplant, learning the technology is the key. When growing eggplant, sowing and field management are key steps. 1. Eggplant sowing method

1. Choose good varieties

For example, eggplant varieties suitable for planting in Guangdong should be resistant to greening and diseases, heat and rain, have purple skin and white flesh, and be long and stick-shaped. For example, Hongfeng, Changfeng, Zaofeng, Nongyou Changqie, Guilin Changqie, etc. are all excellent varieties to choose from.

2. Site selection and land preparation

Choose land that was previously grown with non-Solanaceae crops, preferably rice fields, and raise ridges to more than 30 cm after deep plowing and sun exposure. The width of the bed includes the ditch, with a double row width of 1.7 meters and a single row width of 1 meter. The seedbed should be disinfected 7-10 days before sowing.

3. Apply enough basal fertilizer

Sufficient base fertilizer should be applied to the planting site, and fully decomposed pig, cattle and chicken manure, peanut bran, superphosphate, lime , etc. should be applied per acre and applied when the ridges are formed. 1-2 days before sowing, use finely crushed farmyard manure and compound fertilizer as base fertilizer per acre and mix it with the topsoil.

4. Sow seeds at the right time

The suitable sowing period for spring eggplant is from late October to November, and the seedling period is 60-70 days. The suitable sowing period for autumn candela is June-July, and the seedling period is 25-30 days. Off-season cultivation in cold regions can be done by sowing in March or April and transplanting in May. The seed rate is 15-20 grams per mu.

2. Key points of eggplant field management

1. Eggplant planting

Planting should be carried out after the temperature stabilizes. Apply organic fertilizer and phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer 15 days before planting. Deep plowing and harrowing should be carried out to open the beds or make ridges and cover the ground with film. After planting, water the plants to ensure they take root, and use wide and narrow rows, deep furrows and high ridges for cultivation. For early-maturing varieties, the row spacing is 66cm, and the plant spacing is 45cm; for medium- and late-maturing varieties, the row spacing is 80cm, and the plant spacing is 50cm.

2. Fertilizer and water management

Apply base fertilizer heavily, and combine land preparation with applying well-rotted farmyard manure, urea and compound fertilizer. Apply fertilizer lightly to the seedlings, and apply top dressing 1-2 times after transplanting and before flowering to prevent the plants from growing too tall. Apply fertilizer to the fruit in time. When the pollinated fruit grows to the size of duck eggs, water and fertilize to promote fruit enlargement. Stop applying fertilizer when the fruit changes color and keep the soil moist.

3. Plant adjustment

Remove the flower buds and all side branches below the eggplant, and maintain binary branches. After the pollination of the four-door bucket is completed, leave 3 leaves on the top and insert a support to prevent lodging and reduce fruit rot.

4. Pollination

Strictly remove the weeds between the father and mother plants, and use the parent's flowering node, leaf shape, leaf color, growth momentum, and flower color as the typicality for the inspection. After pollination, remove the selfed fruits on the female plant and the male plant.
