Taboos for growing Bauhinia in winter

Taboos for growing Bauhinia in winter

1. Keep in a cool place

The temperature is low and the light is weak in winter, but it likes light. If it is placed in a cool place, the plant will be frozen, causing the leaves to turn yellow and dry, and may even die. Therefore, it should be given sufficient light in winter, full sun is best, and it is strictly forbidden to place it in the shade, which will affect its growth and appearance.

2. Overwatering

It needs a lot of water to grow, so you need to water it frequently during normal maintenance. But be careful not to add water frequently during winter maintenance, as water accumulation is easy to occur, which may frostbite the plant roots and affect growth. Watering can be changed to the principle of watering when the soil is dry and then watering when the soil in the pot is dry.

3. Apply fertilizer

The plant will go dormant in a low temperature environment, at which time it has basically stopped growing and the roots no longer absorb nutrients. Fertilizer should be stopped at this time, otherwise the roots will burn. If you are not sure it has been applied, water should be applied as soon as possible to dilute the fertilizer and allow it to flow out.

4. Outdoor placement

It has poor cold resistance and the temperature is low in winter, so it should be moved to a greenhouse or indoors in time to spend the winter. Once the outdoor temperature drops below 5 degrees, the plants will be frozen, affecting their growth next year.
