What to do if the top of the fortune tree is rotten

What to do if the top of the fortune tree is rotten

1. Reasons for the top rot

Top rot is usually caused by overwatering. During the growth process, people sometimes mistakenly believe that it needs a lot of water, so they keep watering the soil in the pot. This will easily cause water accumulation, which will cause the roots to rot, and the nutrient transport will also be hindered. Therefore, the top of the plant will rot due to lack of nutrients.

2. Treatment methods

1. Stop watering

If you find that the cause is too much watering, then you should stop watering. This is a very important step in whether it can be saved. After stopping watering, dig the plant out of the potting soil.

2. Cut off the rotten areas

Rinse the dug plants with clean water, then use scissors to cut off the rotten parts. The cut must be very smooth. Then find some anti-inflammatory ointment to block the cut to prevent dirt or water from getting in. This will prevent it from further rotting.

3. Soak the plants

First, prepare a large basin, pour the prepared carbendazim into the basin, then put the cut plants in it and soak them for about 30 minutes. Finally, take them out and place them in a cool place to dry.

4. Replanting

After the rotten areas are dealt with, you can replant it in new potting soil. Try to choose a clay pot with loose and breathable soil. Then pay more attention to spraying it with water and keep it properly moist. After about 20 days, branches will grow again on its top.
