Cultivation methods and precautions of Schefflera

Cultivation methods and precautions of Schefflera

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: You can use peat soil, leaf mold and a little base fertilizer mixed with soil suitable for its growth.

2. Light: Schefflera prefers a semi-shaded environment. It can grow normally if placed in a well-ventilated, bright place.

3. Watering: It likes a humid environment, and its leaves will grow lushly only when there is appropriate amount of water.

4. Fertilization: March to September is its growing season. Apply some compound fertilizer or nitrogen fertilizer every 2 to 3 weeks.

2. Breeding Methods

The general propagation method of Schefflera is cutting propagation:

1. For soil cuttings, select an annual branch about 10 cm long as the cutting medium, remove the lower leaves, retain three to four leaves on the top, cut the lower end into an inclined surface, insert it into the soil, and then spray water to keep it moist for maintenance.

2. For water insertion, find a container, fill it with clean water, then insert the 7 cm long cuttings with a notch at the lower end into the water, put it in a ventilated place, and wait for it to take root and sprout.

3. Pest and disease control

The main hazards are leaf spot disease, anthracnose and red spider mites, which can be eliminated with pesticides such as charcoal fomei and dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate.

IV. Precautions

1. Repotting: You can repot once every spring. The potting soil used should be loose, breathable and well-drained. If you use plastic potting soil, pay attention to drainage.

2. Pruning: If you don’t want it to grow too tall, you need to top and pinch the heart of the plant, so that side buds will grow soon.
