Cultivation methods and precautions of coriander

Coriander is easy to grow, but its biggest drawback is that it grows too quickly. Even if you only plant a little bit of it, it will crawl everywhere. So if you want a delicate landscape in your planted tank but you are a bit lazy, it is not suitable to plant cilantro, because its rapid growth can easily make the landscape lose its original feeling.

How to cultivate cilantro

Coriander has a high demand for fertilizer. During its vigorous growth stage, it needs to be fertilized every 2 to 3 weeks. If planted in a pot or container, a small amount of fertilizer is needed to ensure that the water quality is slightly acidic or neutral. If soil is used for cultivation, water must be retained for a long time. Water should be poured once every morning. The water should not be too sufficient, and water should flow out of the bottom holes to ensure that the soil in the pot is moist.

1. Soil cultivation

The soil can be mixed with rotten leaves, river mud and garden soil in a ratio of 0.5:2:2 by volume. It is moisture-resistant and water-resistant, so it is also suitable for basins and pools. If it is cultivated in water, the water must be changed once a week and a special nutrient solution for foliage plants must be added.

2. Fertilization

The demand for fertilizer of cilantro is high. During the vigorous growth stage, topdressing is applied every 2-3 weeks. If planted in pots or containers, a small amount of fertilizer is needed, which can maintain the fertilizer effect in the water for a long time, and the water quality is slightly acidic or neutral.

3. Watering

Coriander prefers a relatively humid growing environment. Due to its many leaves and large transpiration, the plant should be sprayed with water frequently in summer to maintain a high air humidity. The leaves should be kept clean to facilitate photosynthesis. In winter, the potting soil should be kept dry. Watering should follow the principle of "better to be wet than dry" and avoid water accumulation, otherwise the roots will easily rot. If grown in water, the water must be changed once a week and special nutrient solution for foliage plants should be added.

Coriander Care Precautions

When caring for cilantro, you should pay attention to the hardness of the water. Because in soft water without lime, the roots will rot and turn brown. The nitrate content should be low. Pay attention to ventilation and cooling during the high temperatures in summer and autumn. In winter and spring, provide a certain amount of light in the morning and evening.
