Marigold planting methods and precautions

In the process of growing marigolds, the pH value of the soil should be adjusted between 5.5-7 to provide a slightly acidic soil environment for the plants. Marigolds are light-loving flowers and should be provided with at least 14 hours of light a day. However, when the temperature reaches 30 degrees in summer, it should be shaded to cool down.

Marigold growth habits

Marigold is suitable for growing in a warm and humid environment, and is suitable for growing in an environment with a temperature of 15-25 degrees. Marigold is not heat-resistant or cold-resistant. If the temperature is higher than 30 degrees and lower than 5 degrees, it will grow poorly. Marigold likes light, and the flowers are brightly colored in an environment with sufficient light.

1. Time

Marigold is an annual herb. March to April every spring is the time for sowing marigold seeds. The main method of reproduction is cutting propagation.

2. Planting

Marigold can be sown by covering with film. After sowing, it needs to be covered with soil and watered. A week after sowing, the seeds of marigold will germinate.

3. Fertilization

During the growth process of marigold, the demand for fertilizer is very high, especially for medicinal marigold. After each flower picking, the marigold needs to be supplemented with sufficient nutrients.

Marigold cultivation precautions

1. Moisture

Marigold does not require much water, but it does not mean that it does not need watering. The principle of watering marigold is generally to water it frequently in small amounts. Pay attention to replenishing water when marigold is blooming.

2. Sterilization

The diseases of marigold are mainly spot disease, fungal disease and yellowing. The most commonly used drug is carbendazim. The insect pests of marigold are mainly aphids and cyprids. Timely pest control can effectively prevent and control insect pests.
