Wuchang rice refers to a type of rice produced in Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province in Northeast China. Wuchang is located in the southern part of Heilongjiang Province. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and has a warm climate. It has a history of rice cultivation for more than 200 years. Since ancient times, the rice produced in abundance here has been tribute rice to the imperial court. There is a saying that "Wuchang rice is the emperor's grain."

Wuchang rice only produces 900-1000 kilograms per acre, which is nearly a quarter lower than ordinary rice. The reason for the low yield is that other regions grow hybrid rice, while Wuchang rice is "Rice Fragrance No. 2", so the yield of Wuchang rice is lower than that of hybrid rice.
