The oat harvest time in Inner Mongolia is in early September, but the maturity time of the upper and lower parts of the oat grains is different. As long as the middle and upper grains enter the late waxy stage, they must be harvested in time. When harvesting, you can use a sickle to harvest all the above-ground parts and take them home to dry, or you can use a machine to harvest.

Inner Mongolia has a cool climate, large temperature difference between day and night, windy and dry weather, a short frost-free period and abundant sunlight, which are suitable for the growth of oats. Inner Mongolia is also the largest oat production area in China. Among them, Wuchuan County and Qingshuihe County of Hohhot Oats have the largest planting area and the best quality. The oat yield per mu is about 500 to 800 kilograms.
